Thank you Julius for sharing this recipe! It brings me back memories of my childhood when I used to eat a tart filled with gelo di mellone in Sicily during summertime: sublime!
I've just one observation: it's called mellone (with double L), not melone: mellone is the sicilian (dialect) name for watermelon, instead melone is the italian word for melon :)
I wish you’d stuck to your expertise. I’m afraid you’ve lost a subscriber and I hope you take my respectful suggestion to vary your media diet and seek out real truth. Best of luck in your endeavors.
The fact that you call it “real truth” makes me question your source of media as well. I’m sorry to see you go, of course, but I’ve heard both sides and I stand firmly with my decision.
I received your email today and I wanted to respond to you: while I agree with mourning civilan loses caught up in the violence driven politics of their radical leaders, I was deeply disappointed by the choice of voices you choose to amplify. As if it was an exclusionary goal. You especially as a fellow German should take a firm stance on the universality of human rights and aknowledge the complexity of the situation in the region and the muddines of morality of the actors involved. The one sided "sources" you posted in your newsletter didn't reflect that. It is possible to speak out against the situation in Gaza without withholding solidarity for other people's suffering. I see your well intentions so I urge you to also listen to voices like @standing.together.english @third.narrative @hamzeawawde @hamzahowidyy @moj (all ok Instagram aswell) affected by this and still maintaining an humanitarian approach!
Thank you. I remember having this at my Palestinian friends house it’s delicious!

What a wonderful memory! And thanks for letting me know, it’s so confusing because wherever I found the dish, it was written with one L 😭
